Over 100 years old and still not fully grown. The giant trees at Wellingtonienplatz are the Goliaths among native trees. At nearly 45 meters tall and up to 165 centimeters in diameter, they are the tallest and thickest trees in the forest district. It’s hard to imagine that their American ancestors reached about twice the height and many times the girth.
Why not linger a while, admire the giants, and make yourself comfortable in the cabin with its barbecue area? Meanwhile, your children can play soccer on the large meadow. Discover the forest as a natural habitat a little more closely on a walk along the tree nature trail. There, 30 information panels provide details about herbaceous flowering plants and ferns, their habitat requirements, flowering times, and their medicinal significance.
If your feet are aching after a hike—no problem: the Kneipp foot bath promises refreshment for tired bones.
