Mysterious time signs – The solstice path

Anyone who has undertaken these discovery routes will perceive our region with different eyes in the future and possibly uncover further mysterious relics.
For centuries the Abtstein has been part of the townscape – its true meaning remains in the dark. Past strange stone slabs and reconstructed burial mounds, the path goes down to the idyllic Schwarzweiher, monuments, and the former industrialization.
The detour to the Spitzen Hübel leads to a mysterious giant mound in the forest: 20 m high, 150 m in diameter, and circular. A natural spectacle or man-made? Strange symbols on a boundary stone and a menhir from the Neolithic lead to the highlight of the path: astronomy you can touch in a modern stone circle before the grand horizon of the Palatinate Forest.

Especially in autumn, it is important to note that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees can still fall or branches drop. In adverse weather conditions, natural paths may have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in some places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you believe certain sections are impassable for you, you should bypass them.
