Margaretenschlucht Path

The region is remarkable and varied anyway, as the views over the river valley, the atmospheric mood in the gorge, the striking rock walls, and the characteristic vegetation create breathtaking moments. Visitors can expect surprises, such as a panel with a viewing hole; those who look through discover the Mittelberg, around which the Neckar once formed a now-dry river loop.
You should choose a dry day for your visit, which lasts at least two hours, because the gorge has an alpine character and can be slippery and impassable when wet; good footwear is always a must. One can also plan a rest during the walk along the Margaretenschlucht Path: at the "Time Station Present", the last panel at the Gickelsfelsen, where two newly built "forest sofas" invite you to relax with a view over the Neckar valley.
