“The Little Falcon Flight” is a roughly 7-kilometer-long trail that takes about 2 hours to walk. Along the way, it passes the town hall, the market square, the Pferdeschwemme, the church, and the rectory, and follows the wine trail to the castle ruins and on to the wine cellar lane. Wineries and Heurigen taverns are also part of the route.
At a total of 25 locations, there are plaques mounted on limestone blocks printed with stories and information about Falkenstein, its landscape, and viticulture. The falcon serves as a recurring symbol and guides visitors through the various stops.
Along the paths, numerous attractions invite you to explore and linger, including vineyard huts, a picnic area, the wine cellar lane, the “Ei,” a show cellar, and a vineyard maze. Weinviertel-style wine tavern sets offer opportunities to relax and enjoy yourself.
At select “Falkenrast” rest stops, you can combine the experience with regional delicacies—such as a wine tasting or a Weinviertel snack.
