A short, steep climb and you slowly feel that you are standing on historic ground. The Roman road was the main connection from the Elz to the Kinzig valley for centuries. Shady forests, colorful meadows, and fields now alternate steadily. Looking back is worthwhile. The mountain range around Rohrhardsberg, Gschasikopf, and Kapf appears in the background. Only a few meters of altitude to go, then you have made it. The highest point of the hike is reached at Biereck. You have earned your rest.
Narrow path downhill on the Hansjakob-Weg. In the Biederbach district Kirchhöf, there might be time to visit the beautiful pilgrimage church. Then along the forest edge. Over meadows and fields. Again and again, wonderful views. A short ascent then to the Bauset.
A forest road and the valley road lead you back to the starting point.
