Im Jahr 1997 wurde dem Dorf neues Leben eingehaucht. Ein Anbau an der Glashütte wurde fertig gestellt – so wie er einst bestand. Die Heimatpflege Leutkirch hat darin ein Glasmuseum mit vielen faszinierenden Dokumenten zur Glasgeschichte eingerichtet. Aber auch die langgestreckten Arbeiterhäuser und die einstige Verwaltung wurden denkmalgerecht renoviert, sind heute als private Wohnhäuser umfunktioniert.
Selbst der Dorfbrunnen aus dem Jahr 1877 strahlt neben der Kapelle jetzt wieder im ursprünglichen Glanz.
1999 startete die Renovierung des historischen Glasmagazins unter der Regie des Projekts Schmidsfelden e.V.. Gemeinsam mit der Heimatpflege Leutkirch und dem Umweltkreis Leutkirch ist das Projekt geglückt – das Glasmagazin zeigt eine Fülle alter Gläser, Fotos und Belege zur Umweltgeschichte und zur Ökologie der Adelegg.
