A wide, flat path that goes into the woods between the Larséch and the Catinaccio, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site since 2006. Along this route, 24 totems guide your gaze to places you might not have otherwise paused, teaching it to recognise the secrets, mysteries, and surprises of forest and mountain life at high altitude. A living, vital and constantly-changing environment, capable of preserving the myths and legends that have accompanied it over time and bring it to us today, but also the story of all that science has been able to reveal or is still trying to. The fauna, flora, stone and poetry of its forms. An outdoor adventure, full of emotions, to fall in love with the mountains from an early age.

    Children's walk at Ciampedie

With the cable car from Vigo, you can get to Ciampedie in just a few minutes. This is a spectacular natural terrace overlooking the valley, offering a breathtaking view of the Fassa Dolomites. From the top station, walk towards the Ciampedie Rifugio, then go down a short ramp and continue on level ground to the Negritella Rifugio. This is the start of path no. 540, which crosses the ski slope and enters a Swiss pine forest.

The path, one of continuous ascents and descents, unfolds between extraordinary landscapes: to your right, the jagged peaks and imposing rock faces of the Larséch; to the west, the majesty of the eastern cliffs of the Catinaccio. Step by step, the forest thins out and, in a few minutes, you find yourself in the magnificent basin of Gardeccia.

You can go back along the same route or, from Gardeccia, follow the evocative Legends Trail (Sentiero delle Leggende), which leads you to "Pian Pecei". From here, the chairlift takes you comfortably back to Ciampedie, giving you a last look from above at these timeless mountains.
