Fishing route 6 km, Paljakka
In the beautiful scenery of the fishing route, the whole family can enjoy the beautiful nature. There are many good fishing spots along the route, and you can bring your own fishing gear. The route starting from Paljakkakeskus offers visitors picturesque rapids, peaceful forest, and its highlight is a shelter located in a wonderful spot by the shore of Rakennusjärvi. The shelter is a great place to take a break and eat a snack while admiring the sparkling Rakennusjärvi. You can also take a refreshing dip in the lake if you wish. The beginning part of the fishing route is also suitable for people with mobility impairments, and the fishing park at Paljakkakeskus has fishing spots adapted for people with disabilities, so everyone interested has the chance to enjoy the excitement of fishing.

- At the place called Patonen crossing, prehistoric finds have also been made. According to research done in 1984, impressions were found on the western bank of Louhenjoki, just south of Patonen. The impressions are a five-meter diameter and two-meter deep pit and three smaller pits. These pits have been called giant's kettles.
Roadbook
The fishing route starts near Paljakkakeskus. The route proceeds northward, winding along the Louhenjoki River up to Holstintie. The easy-to-walk part of the route ends at Savipaikankoski, where there is also a stone log driving trench from the logging era. At the end of the easy section, there is also a campfire site.
The route continues north past traditional meadows, then turns west and southwest, follows Holstintie for a while, and then returns to the forest. The path continues west toward Rakennusjärvi and its excellent fishing spots. The kota (hut) on the shore of Rakennusjärvi is a great place to take a break and enjoy a snack.
The fishing route circles around Rakennusjärvi, crosses Hoikanvaarantie road, and the route signs guide visitors back to Paljakkakeskus.

- From Kajaani direction: About 40 km from Kajaani via road 5. From Ristijärvi, turn towards Puolanka (road no. 888) about 23 km. At the Kauppa intersection, turn right (Hoikanvaarantie) for 3 km. Turn right into the ski resort.
- From Paltamo direction: About 25 km towards Puolanka. Turn right towards Ristijärvi (road no. 888) about 10 km. From the Kauppa intersection, turn left 3 km and then right into the ski resort.
- From Oulu direction: From Oulu to Utajärvi, then to Puolanka. Pass Puolanka-Paltamo towards Kajaani about 26 km, then left (road no. 888) about 10 km. From the Kauppa intersection, turn left 3 km and then right into the ski resort.
