By Train & Bus:
The nearest major train station is Krems an der Donau, which is served regularly by trains from Vienna, St. Pölten, and the Waldviertel. From the Krems train station, VOR regional buses run directly to Dürnstein several times a day. www.vor.at
Wachaubahn (seasonal): During the season, the Wachaubahn runs between Krems and Emmersdorf and also stops in Dürnstein. www.wachaubahn.at
By boat (seasonal):
During the season, Dürnstein is also accessible by Danube river cruise—for example, on the DDSG Blue Danube from Krems or Melk.https://ddsg-blue-danube.at/
Directions
A1 to St. Pölten junction, continue on S33 to Krems or continue on B3 to Dürnstein.
Parking
Outside of Dürnstein at five large paid parking lots. The town center of Dürnstein is reachable within 5 - 10 minutes on foot.
