Touristik & Freizeit Sankt Wendeler Land
On the Astro Experience Trail, you can discover at various information and experience stations what there is to explore in space. You will be accompanied by our two Sankt Wendeler Land mascots, Wenda and Linus.
Near the starting point, there is a large play structure, the climbable planetarium with benches and constellations inside. Further along the path, you come to the living sundial. Here you can play the role of the clock hand yourself and show with your shadow what time it is. But of course, that only works when the sun is shining…
At the next station, the planets of our solar system are presented. A tactile model illustrates the size differences between the planets.
The information board Moon explains everything important about Earth's satellite.
At the first quiz board, you can test your knowledge about the planets.
After the dam, there is a life-size 3D model of our moon, where you can feel the uneven moon surface.
The Astro memory game invites the whole family to find the correct pairs of the beautiful astro photos.
At the next station, you will find a lot of interesting information about our Milky Way and various celestial events, such as the northern lights.
The next quiz board tests your knowledge about stars.
The major problem of light pollution and our solution – our project „Sankt Wendeler SternenLand“ – are presented to you at the next knowledge station.
Behind the Bosener Mill you will find one of six star gazing spots in Sankt Wendeler Land. Of course, you cannot see the stars during the day, but maybe you can come back at night when the sky is clear to observe the stars. It's best to bring binoculars along.
The questions on the next quiz board are about the Sankt Wendeler SternenLand project. Let’s see what you can already answer.
The last station on the Astro Experience Trail, and thus the conclusion, just before the Bosen beach bath, is the photo spot, an astronaut viewing panel. Here you can take a nice souvenir photo. In addition, you will learn some exciting details about space.
