Hochwechsel via Kaltwiesen

From the Mönichwalder Schwaig, you can hike the marked path via the toll road or right of the ski slope until you reach, to the right of the exit point from the drag lift, a forest path. Follow this path to the chapel where the toll road also passes. From here, follow the signs for Hochwechsel-Kaltwiesen. Pass the Kaltwiesen hut to the signpost Hochwechsel via Kaltwiesen. Initially through sparse forest, you quickly reach the flat open area; always follow the marked path to Hochwechsel. The descent begins first on the toll road, visible by pole markings; at the large rock wall leave the markings, follow the ridge on the right through open forest, orient yourself along the pasture fence. At the height of the Sagbauer hut, veer left again until you reach the markings (toll road) again; follow these up to the sign Kaltwiesen-Mönichwalder Schwaig. Follow the path back to the Mönichwalder Schwaig.
