The scenic toboggan descent via Waldspitz to Bort.
First you take the gondola comfortably from Grindelwald to First. At the mountain station, you have the option to rent a sled, buy missing equipment at the sports shop, take a short toilet break, or refresh yourself with a warm drink or a meal in the restaurant. Before the actual start, you should definitely also walk the First Cliff Walk.
From First, it first goes a few hundred meters uphill on foot towards Anja's Ski Bar and then on towards Bachalpsee. At the highest point (Gummi hut), you get on the sled for the first time. Now you feel the cold mountain air on your face, but the fantastic view brings a smile to your face. Towards Waldspitz, there are some flatter sections where you can recover a bit on foot. If you get hungry or thirsty on the way, you can stop by the mountain restaurant Waldspitz.
After the refreshment, it goes down through the beautiful forest to Bort. Once at Bort, you have the choice of either taking the gondola back up to First, visiting the mountain house Bort, or taking the gondola back down to the valley. In good snow conditions, the toboggan run from Bort via Mühlebach to Grindelwald is also open.

Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
Thanks to its central location in Europe, Switzerland is served by international trains from over 12 countries. Within Switzerland, Intercity trains run directly from Basel and Lucerne to the Jungfrau Region. Travelers from Zurich change trains in Bern. The trains run every half hour.
Grindelwald
From Interlaken Ost station, you can reach Grindelwald without changing trains on the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB). Important: board the rear part of the train, as it splits in Zweilütschinen. Boarding at the front leads to Lauterbrunnen. The journey takes 30 minutes to Grindelwald Terminal (V-Bahn). Three minutes later you arrive at the final station in the village.
There are three stations in Grindelwald (Terminal, Grund, and Dorf). The terminal station (Dorf) is located in the center of Grindelwald.
Directions
The fastest route to the Jungfrau Region from Basel and Geneva leads via Bern. From Zurich, the route via Lucerne and the Brünig Pass is recommended. The pass is open all year round.
From the south, access to the Jungfrau Region is via Grimsel or Susten Pass. Both passes are only open in summer. Alternatively, the Simplon Pass with subsequent car shuttle through the Lötschberg tunnel is an option.
Grindelwald
From Interlaken, follow the main road to Zweilütschinen. Here turn left towards Grindelwald. The entire drive takes about 30 minutes and leads over a partly winding route.
Parking
Grindelwald
There are three public parking garages: Eiger+ parking garage (252 parking spaces), Sportzentrum parking garage (160 parking spaces), and the new Terminal Parking (1000 parking spaces) of the V-Bahn. Alternatively, the parking lot in Grindelwald Grund can also be used.
