Roadbook
Ascent: From the car park, ski along the forest aisle (also Sommerweg) up to the Sommerwandl approx. 200m. Shoulder your skis here and follow the steel cable along the mostly snow-free, but often icy path crossing to the left. The terrain becomes flatter again for around 100 metres before you reach the next steep section. Depending on the conditions, this can be negotiated on skis (traverse to the far right and then back again) or carrying skis. Now it is technically easier to climb up the Alpeltal valley, which is bordered by impressive rock faces. The first beautiful views of Berchtesgaden and the Untersberg open up. We reach the Umgänge (plateau, 2,000 m) where we orientate ourselves to the south (right). The north-facing gully leading to the summit of the Hoher Brett is soon recognisable and we follow this in a logical line upwards at a maximum gradient of 40 degrees. The slope recedes and we reach the summit. All hail the mountain!
The descent is rewarding and corresponds to the ascent.
After the tour, we can recommend a stop at the Hofbräuhaus Berchtesgaden.
