Ski route Hohe Rossfelder
Despite the absence of a classic summit, the ski route on the Hohe Rossfelder impresses with its scenic beauty and thrilling descent.
The ski route on the Hohe Rossfelder is one of the panoramic highlights in the Berchtesgaden Mountains and offers, in addition to breathtaking views, excellent descent opportunities. The ski route starts at the valley station of the Jennerbahn and leads uphill for the first few meters along the former ski slope. Then the "Hochbahn" branches off to the right towards Königsbachalm, a path that gently ascends along the Königsbach creek and repeatedly offers spectacular views of the Watzmann and the Königssee. After about an hour, ski tourers reach the Königsbachalm and continue their way towards Priesbergalm. This section is characterized by an open landscape with a steeper ascent that eventually leads to a plateau where the cold is felt very intensely.
Author’s recommendation
To avoid the descent via the Hochbahn, the ascent to the Jenner or crossing to the mid-station is recommended.
