Ski tourers also appreciate the Jenner, the Berchtesgaden ski mountain. A beautiful ascent variant off-piste leads over the Hochbahn to the Jenner.

From the valley station of the Jennerbahn, first uphill along the edge of the slope, then right into the forest. On the so-called Hochbahn path to the Königsbachalm, then keep left towards the Königsbergalm. The last meters steep uphill to the ski area.

    Author’s recommendation

It is best to leave your skis at the mountain station and walk the last meters to the scenic summit on foot.

    Roadbook

The starting point of the ski route is the Königssee parking lot. From here you go to the valley station of the Jennerbahn and pass the first 150 meters of elevation along the edge of the ski slope. At a signpost, the path for ski tourers turns right into the forest. The following forest road is known as the Hochbahn and offers impressive views down to the Königssee several times. Below the Königsbachalm, the Hochbahn path turns onto the forest road that leads further to the Königsbachalm.

After a very steep section at the end of the alpine meadow, we turn left into the forest and follow the path to the Königsbergalm at about 1600 meters elevation. The mountain station of the Jennerbahn is already in sight. On the left side of the basin-shaped Königsbergalm, we cross up to the slope of the Jenner ski area.

At the edge of the slope, we overcome the last meters to the mountain station. The descent takes place via the ski slope back to the starting point.
