Roadbook
First higher along the edge of the forest, then drift slightly left across the open area to the western edge of the forest, 1060 m. On a forest path to the W into the forest and directly over the ridge to a clearing. Climb up this, then keep right across the summit meadows (a barn on the left) up to the summit cross, where you should be careful of drops to the west. 1 ¼ hrs.
Descent: As for the ascent, although there are several possible variants in the high forest and using the forest road (e.g. after the Weißenbachalm). Study the map!
Descent variant: From the Hochstaff to the Kleinzeller Hinteralm: On the ridge to the S (keep slightly to the left, right drop-offs) up to 1200 metres. Then a dense forest and the next clearing. At its southern lower edge, descend steeply through the forest to the alpine pasture area and keep right diagonally to the wide saddle area. Continue to the Reisalpe or counter-climb in the area of the downhill track or head slightly eastwards back to the Hochstaff.
