Hochglück

After a short consideration and checking the snow conditions, it was clear it would be something in the Karwendel. Hochglück had been on the wish list for a while, so the decision to head into the Eng, considering the avalanche situation, weather, and access to at least 2 of the 3 e-bikes, was easy. We rode the bikes up to the Hagelhütten. From there, we switched to skis and felt like we walked an eternity to the start point of the route at the Engalmen. Past the Kirchl, it then went fairly quickly into the Hochglückkar and further towards the couloir. To our surprise, a group was already in the steep slope, diligently breaking trail uphill. Thanks for the good track! In the couloir, we had to trudge through snow that wasn’t so bad. Arriving at the notch, we enjoyed plenty of sun and an excellent view. From there, it was a typical crumbly Karwendel rock for 20 minutes to the summit. Simply awesome up there! Descent and ride down along the ascent route.
