The Mauritius Circular Route leads from the Benedictine Abbey Tholey through the settlement area Schweichhauser Wald to the Schaumberg. The path passes the Bacchus Hut, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view over Sotzweiler with the “Wortsegel”, a steel sculpture by Heinrich Popp, after leaving the forest. At the turning point of the path, you reach the Blasius Chapel, a baroque gem near Bergweiler. Originally established as a hermitage in 1246, it was the pilgrimage chapel of the Tholey monastery. The historic and lovingly restored Way of the Cross crosses one can repeatedly discover along the trail once belonged to a Way of the Cross that led from the Tholey Abbey to the Blasius Chapel.
