From Lauzerte we hike this relatively short and easy stage over two ridges with the passes «Pech de la Rode» and «Le Pech Nègre» and also cross the striking stream «Ruisseau Du Tartuguié». Worth seeing are also the two castles «Château de Montlauzun» with a church on a hill on the other side of the path, as well as the «Château de Charry» with its beautiful view over the countryside.
On this stage, we also come from the Tarn-et-Garonne department into the Lot department, where the river of the same name will be our companion in the coming days. The stage town Montcuq is again located on a hill. The old village center and the church of Saint-Hilaire are its sights.
Note(s)
The «Jerusalem Way / JERUSALEM WAY» is a network of pilgrimage routes that leads pilgrims from Central Europe to Jerusalem. Jerusalem, together with Rome and Santiago de Compostela, is one of the 3 most important Christian pilgrimage destinations of the Middle Ages. This path begins at Cape Finisterra on the west coast of Europe and leads either through Italy or along the Danube via the Balkans into Turkey, and from there again on a common route to Jerusalem.
