Celestial Path, 9th Stage: Dogna - Valbruna
The ninth stage from Dogna to Valbruna runs essentially along the entire Val Dogna. The valley is 18 kilometers long and rises from an altitude of 419 meters to the Grego refuge at 1392 meters, following a winding road built during the First World War by Italian soldiers.
You pass through the villages of Chiout di Puppe, Chiout Zuquin, and Chiout, and ascending you reach the Pian de Spadovai farmstead and finally the Sella Somdogna mountain hut.
From there, a ten-minute walk brings you to the Grego refuge, then you descend for about three kilometers to Val Saisera where you find the Montasio refuge.
