Stage Nusplingen – Beuron (20 kilometers):
The Jakobusweg leads from the Cemetery Church of St. Peter and Paul in Nusplingen down Friedhofstraße. Before Nepermuk bridge, turn left into Kirchwiesenstrasse and follow the signage to the last house, then turn left onto the field path and walk briefly across a meadow. Turn left again into a steeper ascent, at the fork turn right onto the forest path and follow it to the junction with the country road. Cross it, turn left on the bike path, first parallel to the country road, then turn right downhill on the bike path, over the small bridge, turn left to the Hohenberg water supply. Here the Beuron Jakobsweg meets the Heuberg pilgrimage path towards Bärenthal. Then keep left and walk comfortably past the Hammer waterworks and the Ensisheim Schlösslemühle to Bärenthal.
Follow Nusplingen Road towards the church, uphill via Gnadenweilerstraße, cross the road Gnadenweiler-Irndorf and continue straight on the Alte Talstaig, a deeply sunken hollow way. Now through a picturesque rocky landscape, past the rock gate with the Lourdes grotto and many testimonies of Christian folk piety, up to Bärenthal-Gnadenweiler. On the plateau, follow the paved road straight to the intersection.
Continue straight, then turn right to the houses Gnadenweiler 10-13, turn right again, then left to follow the gravel path through the forest and over the open plateau. You reach forest again and turn right at the southern edge of the forest. Now gently downhill through the forest, left to a meadow path along the forest edge, right into the forest to Paterfelsen or Scheithäulefels. Turn left along the forest edge, straight at a crossing, then right following the path to Irndorf. Along Drei-Kreuz-Straße into the village, right into Johannesstraße, left into Hauptstraße to the Church of St. Peter.
Continue along Hauptstraße, right onto Staigstraße, right again into Unterdorfstraße, left into Eliasberg Street and via Beuron Way to the chapel on Schönbühl. Now right on the farm road steeply downhill, past the Maria Trost guest and conference house, to Beuron. Over the historic wooden bridge, past a modern pilgrim statue, we reach Beuron Abbey.
