Basler Weg: Basel - Aesch

Today's stage will take us over a distance of 14.1 km with a walking time of about 3.5 hours from Basel to Aesch. We can expect an easy daily stage. We start the hike at the Schifflände on the western side of the Mittlere Brücke and immediately pass the Basel Minster and the St. Alban Monastery. We follow the signposted paths, cross the highway twice and the railway tracks once, to finally leave Basel in a southern direction. The route today takes us on asphalt and natural paths. We follow the course of the Birs River and reach Münchenstein after about 7.0 km. The path continues along the Birs, passing Reinach and Dornach. After 14.1 km, we reach Aesch at an altitude of 312 m, which is also the highest point of the daily stage.
