The summit is a rewarding destination from the Taschachhaus. It is a pure rock route that requires surefootedness and a head for heights on the summit ridge. There is also a crossing from the Rifflsee hut through the Riffl valley and the Riffl glacier via the Wurmtaler Kopf to the Taschachhaus.

    Safety information

Definitely assess the steep summit ridge correctly. Possibly end the route already at the saddle before the summit. In early summer, residual snowfields must be expected. Just below the summit is a bivouac box. This bivouac box is currently not usable and locked. So do not rely on it.

    Roadbook

The path first leads down from the Taschachhaus to the bridge over the Sexegertenbach. We now follow the path to the Rifflsee hut with a moderate ascent. The first fork in the path at 2530 m is closed due to landslides. At the second fork, 2590 m, the ascent leads off to the left and leaves the path to the Rifflsee hut. Now it goes over several steps along the Eiskastenbach sometimes more, sometimes less steeply into a mighty high valley. At the end, a large scree slope is already visible, up which the path zigzags up to a saddle at 3117 m. Here the path, which so far mostly ran in a northerly direction, turns west and over initially flat scree to a steep and exposed block ridge up to the summit. The return path follows the same route.
