The Watzmann, at 2,713 m the second highest mountain in Germany, towers over the region and is its powerful symbol.
The path to the Watzmannhaus at 1,915 m is demanding. Therefore, an overnight stay is recommended if you want to complete the entire route. Following the Watzmannhaus is the partially secured ascent over the ridge of the Hocheck to the 2,651 meter high summit.

The ascent to the Hocheck is a long and challenging path. Because of the length and especially the nearly 2,000 meters of elevation gain, the route must not be underestimated.
