Water has a particularly attractive effect on people. Water, it is said, is the mirror of the soul! Those seeking relaxation and inner peace will find the ideal place for that at the Two Lakes. The Two Lakes, nestled in the gentle hollow between Grubachkogel and Schwarzstein, are relics of the Ice Age and impress with their archaic-purist character. Those who open themselves inwardly will truly find insights into themselves at the Two Lakes.

    Roadbook

From the hiking starting point, follow the signpost "Naßfeldriegel" and continue upwards along the ridge to the summit cross on the Hohe Gränte. Here you will reach a short descent to the Rottörl. Afterwards, on the way to the Hochtristen, there are two to three somewhat tricky sections that require sure-footedness and no fear of heights. For the strenuous detour to the Hochtristen (2,536 m), allow about 15 minutes of ascent. The hike then continues downward to the Zweiseethörl, where the hiker can enjoy a beautiful view of the picturesque Two Lakes. The marked trail leads down to the lakes through gentle terrain. Those who wish can make a short detour to the summit cross of the Schwarzstein (2,264 m). It then goes steeply downhill briefly before continuing through flatter terrain towards Kaiserleiten. A short steep descent leads to the Halterhütte (cool drinks are chilled for hikers in the trough there), and then it's the last ascent up to about 2,000 m above sea level. From there, you walk downhill on a cart track back to the Emberger Alm.
