Descent to the lake (boat trip from the camping site at Ukanc to Ribčev Laz). By bus to Bohinjska Bistrica. Return by train to Jesenice.

Alternating good solid paths and via ferratas. Endurance is required

    Author’s recommendation

If possible, we should try to go outside the Slovenian holidays (which end in early September).

    Safety information

Via ferratas are rather easy if no snow or wetness. Often iron pegs to pull up available

Caution: weather conditions on Triglav can differ significantly from the valley

On my tour it was only very foggy in the summit area, but above all an extremely strong wind made changing clothes during the ascent to Triglav a real challenge

    Tips and suggestions

Bohinjska Bistrica is a good starting point for train excursions (Lake Bled or towards the Soča Valley)

    Roadbook

Ascent from Mojstrana on a forest road or parallel paths to the Aljaž Hut. Then initially a wide path: do not miss the left turn to the start of the Prag Route! Last section to the Triglavski dom is easy. Summit trail to Triglav is not very difficult but exposed in places. Descent via Triglavska škrbina among others.

Good paths and trails, clear markings, many iron pegs on the climbing routes. However, orientation can be critical in foggy conditions.

Ascent from Aljaž Hut to the summit is very busy. Descent to the 7 Lakes is much quieter.

    Public transport

    Public-transport-friendly

Recommended via train to Jesenice and then by bus to Mojstrana

    Directions

On my trip EC possibly without changing trains from Augsburg to Jesenice (direction Ljubljana)

EURO-SPECIAL-TICKET from the German railway is absolutely recommended, 40 - 50 EUR

    Parking

    In Mojstrana

    Equipment

Via ferrata gloves are naturally indispensable

Bivouac sack for sudden weather changes or fog

Via ferrata set generally unnecessary in dry conditions
