From the hut, follow the clear path north and take a left at a fork. The now narrower trail crosses westward up to Flarschjoch. On the other side, it first descends steeply through scree, then increasingly flatter (at Gebelung straight ahead) down to the Knappenböden. At a path crossing, continue straight west, crossing an erosion channel and a large scree slope to the northwest. In the same direction, the path crosses the northeast side of Vorderseespitze and thus heads towards Feuerspitze. The path becomes steeper again and you reach a fork where you can optionally climb Feuerspitze to the right.
At the fork, turn left and with the help of steel cables ascend to Stierlahnzujoch. On the other side, the path now crosses under the southwest side of Feuerspitze to the north, finally descending slightly to Lahnzugjöchl.
From here, the path first goes flat east into the large cirque below Fallenbacher Joch and at the next fork takes a left. Descending over many switchbacks, the path then crosses to an outlier of Holzgauer Wetterspitze, behind which it descends over a huge, quite steep grassy slope to Frederic Simms Hut.
