Tamischbach Tower from Gstatterboden
Mountain route for endurance hikers, over the Ennstaler Hut to the Tamischbach Tower! Surrounded by an impressive mountain backdrop!
Long mountain route starting at the Gstatterboden parking lot. Very well signposted through the forest. A detour to Kroissenalm is worthwhile. The forest road is crossed repeatedly. Almost the entire route to the Ennstaler Hut is in the forest and shaded. From the hut, it can get very hot on sunny days. At the summit, a dream view of the entire Gesäuse mountains, Lugauer, Hochtor, Planspitze, Admonter Reichenstein, Sparafeld, Buchstein...
On the way back, be sure to enjoy the view on the terrace of the Ennstaler Hut with homemade pastries!

If you stay overnight at the Ennstaler Hut, you can join the Tieflimauer the next day via the normal route or via via ferrata (Teufelssteig C).

At the Gstatterboden parking lot, follow the path through the forest to the Hubertus Chapel. Shortly after the chapel, turn left into the forest, after a few hundred meters cross the stream and follow the well-marked trail, which crosses the forest road several times. Then continue for a stretch alongside the forest road. At a fork, you can go right towards Kroissenalm (to stop for refreshment, the route is a few minutes longer) or go left. The path and forest road alternate until the trail becomes steeper and after a clearing the Ennstaler Hut is already visible. Pass under the terrace and follow the signs to Tamischbach Tower. Soon the tree line is reached and it climbs ever steeper uphill. At the summit, you have a wonderful 360-degree mountain panorama! The descent is the same as the ascent, allowing for a rest at the Ennstaler Hut.
