A route across the Schobergruppe with many challenging secured passages and stunning views and the climb to Petzeck (3,283m).
The route runs from south to north through the Schobergruppe, from Lienz to Kals. It passes almost
all huts and many high-altitude small lakes. Along the way, there are regular magnificent views of the mountains of the Lienzer Dolomites, the Glockner group, and the Lasörling group. Weather permitting, an attempt will be made to climb the highest mountain in the Schobergruppe, the 3,283 m high Petzeck.
The pass crossings are very interesting. They are varied and quite challenging. The latter both technically and physically. The daily sections are usually not long in distance but can take a long time due to technical difficulties such as cable protections, steep frozen snowfields, or fresh snow.
Note: This route has been promoted in the past by the NKBV. Due to possible changing conditions, you are always responsible for checking the current route conditions. Get information from the local tourist office or experts from the respective region to go safely and prepared.
