You start from the train station in Farchant via Bahnhofstraße heading towards Alter Wirt. After the traffic light, pass the bakery and you will see the church. Passing the town hall and along the church wall on the right, you then reach the playground at Spielleite. Here you take the trail, also used for mountain destinations, and come via the Spielleiten spring up to Spielleitenboden.
Continue over Spielleitboden until you reach the two forest roads that come one after the other. At the second road, turn right (you are now at the Reschberg meadows) until you reach a fork in the road, which you again follow to the right (not the forest road to the left).
About 150 meters later (after a young spruce stand) turn left and first follow a small stream, which shortly afterwards becomes a trail again. Follow this trail until it meets a forest road again. Turning right, follow this road for about 5 minutes until the trail leaves to the left, first quite steeply, then flatter, in switchbacks leading to the summit of Schafkopf.
From car park P3 (Lahnewies) you follow the forest edge path to the Spielleite playground.
