From Präbichl, the pass summit (park a car there or arrive by public transport) on a well-marked hiking trail in about 1.5 hours to the Reichenstein Hut 2,136m with a short detour to the Eisenerzer Reichenstein 2,165m.
We start the next day at 4:00, the first section Hohe Lins up to about Linseck in the dark, but with wonderful morning atmosphere. Past Stadelstein, just north of Wildfeld the first spring, down to Teichenegg through knee-high blueberry bushes with many, many berries and unfortunately no time to snack, over Kragelschinken, the Weitböden - nomen est omen - the section drags on and looking at the clock we speed up our pace. Brunnecksattel, 2nd spring, up to Zeiritzkampel in the midday heat, a somewhat longer break is not a bad idea. Then running down over Zeiritztörl, Hinkareck, Speickkogel, Lahnerleitenspitze, Leobnertörl with the 3rd spring. Here a descent into the Liesingtal valley would be possible, but our self-imposed time limit is not exceeded, so we continue to Leobner, Haberltörl, Sonnleitenkogel, Blaseneck, Niederberg, Anhartskogel. To Spielkogel 1,731m, the last 'elevation' before the Mödlinger Hut 1,523m, there would still be some springs, but always with a descent from the marked trail. Daylight slowly fades, our pace after the long route is also no longer the fastest, so we arrive in the dark at the Mödlinger Hut.
A few hundred meters below the hut at the parking lot (toll road) 1,400m is already our 2nd vehicle, a very pleasant comfort.
We will visit the 2nd Reichenstein, the Eisenerzer, another time (again).
