Rifugio Capanna Piz FassaSafety information
The ascent and descent to the summit include several (not difficult) sections secured with ropes;Roadbook
From Pordoijoch, follow marker 627 towards Piz Boè; instead of walking, you can of course also use the cable car. After about 1.5 hours you reach the saddle with the Pordoihütte. From here it continues almost level until a fork in the path. Ascending right leads to the summit of Piz Boè and the hut of the same name at 3152 m. From here there are a few rope-secured sections, all not difficult for experienced mountaineers.
The descent is best chosen towards the Boèhütte, marked 638. Here again are some not difficult rope-secured sections. From the Boèhütte you then follow, again almost level, the Dolomitenhöhenweg towards Pordoihütte. After just under half an hour you reach the aforementioned fork and from here follow the ascent path back towards the starting point at Pordoijoch.
If you still have enough reserves, the short ascent (about 100 m elevation gain) to the cable car mountain station is recommended. Very nice viewing platform with restaurant and deck chairs.
