Gipfel im Sellastock der Dolomiten
Der Sass Pordoi ist ein 2950 m hoher, plateauförmiger Gipfel im Sellastock der Dolomiten.
Auf seinem Gipfelplateau liegt das Rifugio Maria, benannt nach der Pionierin des Tourismus am Pordoipass, Maria Piaz. Von der Sonnenterrasse des Restaurants wandert der Blick über ein einmaliges 360-Grad-Panorama: Die Sella-Gruppe, der Rosengarten und die Marmolada grüßen ebenso wie die Ortler-Gruppe und die Ötztaler und Zillertaler Alpen. Gondelfahrer erreichen den Gipfel bequem mit der Seilbahn vom Pordoijoch aus, wobei bereits die Auffahrt über die steilen Felsklippen und in den Himmel ragenden Türme ein Erlebnis ist. Auch die Seilbahn auf das Gipfelplateau haben Besucher der Pionierin Piaz zu verdanken.
Das Plateau ist außerdem Ausgangspunkt für anspruchsvolle Wanderungen sowie Klettersteige im Sella-Gebiet und im Winter fahren geübte Skifahrer über die schwierige Pordoischarte ab.
