Mountain hike with easy climbing sections up to grade 1 over the Rauher Kamm to the highest peak of the Lower Austrian districts Lilienfeld and Scheibbs with lift assistance and the possibility to park 2 cars in Raneck and at the Lackenhof chairlift without completing the round

Ötscher - one of the most impressive peaks in Lower Austria and at the same time the highest peak of the Lower Austrian districts Lilienfeld and Scheibbs with easy climbing sections over the Rauher Kamm and some subsidiary peaks such as Rauher Kamm 1760m, Herrenstand 1888m and just before the Ötscher mountain hut the Hüttenkogel 1520m. I have already been on the Ötscher 7 times, always via the Rauher Kamm, but the last time with many clouds and wind, so not much was visible, but through the wind one could still catch impressive views through the clouds repeatedly, giving the Ötscher a rather grim appearance. In addition, the Ötscher chairlift was also open, which I used on the way down. Since it was a guided route with several participants, one could pick up the other car from Raneck at the chairlift with a second car.

The start began at Raneck after the Ötscher meadow and went along a flat forest road to Bärenlacken, from where the ascent over the Rauher Kamm began, marked with signposts. First steeply through the forest on a narrow path, later easy climbing up to grade 1 with a few clamps over rock, but only slightly exposed, and up to the flat plateau, from where you still have a 10-minute walk over meadows to the summit of the Ötscher. Then further along the ridge to the Ötscher mountain hut, from where you can optionally use the chairlift or take a serpentine path to the Fuchswald restaurant near the valley station of the chairlift.
