Hiking experience for the whole family is guaranteed on the route to Knoten. The route over the Weinberger Alm mostly passes through light forests and gentle meadows. There are plenty of opportunities for extended breaks everywhere. The somewhat steeper summit ascent can be managed by everyone. At the scenic summit, the joy of hiking reaches its peak. To the north, deep in the Kreuzeck group, you can see the Hochkreuz, the highest peak of the mountain group. To the southeast, you spot the turquoise-blue Weißensee. The return route over the Ochsentörl again offers plenty of space for children to romp on the wide gentle alpine meadows.

    Roadbook

Base for the hike to Knoten (2,214 m) is the Hochtristenhaus (1,697 m). The route starts with a leisurely “warm-up” walk to the Weinberger Alm. The sign “B32 – Weinberger Alm” shows the way to the hiker. First across a picturesque alpine pasture, then through a short forest section, you reach the neighboring alpine pasture. Here begins the actual ascent via a trail up to Knoten (signpost). Quickly you reach treeless terrain and walk upward over the gentle alpine meadows to the “Kreuzbründl”. Alpenrose covers the ground here, especially during the blooming period (mostly in July) this plant colors the mountain slopes deep pink. Through this sea of blossoms you continue upward, following the signpost “Knoten” into the mountain’s southwestern slopes. Arriving at the western shoulder at about 2,150 m, you hike over this towards the east to the summit.

Descent: Now steeply descend over the eastern ridge to the wide Ochsentörl. Here follow the signposts “Hochtristenhaus” and reach the Oberberger Alm with the Hochtristenhaus in about 1.5 hours walking time (from the summit).
