From the parking lot, the path leads us uphill on the right side of the stream to Marienseer Schwaig, or at the end of the parking lot by the information board sharply left onto the forest road, and we come back onto the marked path. The path is well marked (Schindlersteig) up to Marienseer Schwaig (place to eat). Above the alpine pasture, the markings are less visible, but the Wetterkogelhaus shows us the direction. From Wetterkogelhaus (place to eat) it continues towards Kranichberger Schwaig. It is worth leaving the marked path and taking the trail over Umschussriegel and Schöberriegel. Shortly before the Dreiländereck, the paths meet again (signpost in all directions). There, sharply right, signboards to the panoramic trail (forest road) back to Marienseer Schwaig. From there it goes back the same way to the biotope in Mariensee.
