a very varied route through the northern part of the Schober, with sometimes challenging passages; but also with beautiful views
The route goes through the northern part of the Schobergruppe, with Kals as start and end point. It passes nearly all huts and many high-lying small lakes. Along the way, there are regular magnificent views of the mountains of the Lienz Dolomites, Glockner group and Lasörling group. If the weather permits, we will try to climb the highest mountain of the Schobergruppe, the 3283 m high Petzeck.
The pass crossings are very interesting. They are varied and quite demanding, both technically and physically. The daily stages are usually not so long in distance, but they can be long in duration due to technical difficulties such as wire protections, steep frozen snowfields or fresh snow.
Note: This route was previously published by the NKBV. Due to possible changing conditions, you are always responsible for checking the current route conditions yourself. Have yourself informed at the local tourist office or by experts from the respective region, so you travel safely and well prepared.
