"alpannonia" stage 5 Bernstein - Geschriebenstein/Pass
From the main square in Bernstein, the trail leads to the natural swimming pool with subsequent barefoot path. After a section of the Planet Trail, the route then leads mostly along forest paths to Goberling. The history of local antimony mining is presented in the Goberling Mining Museum. Immediately afterwards, you enter the Geschriebenstein-Irottkö Nature Park. Passing a lime kiln and a newly built biotope, you come to Unterkohlstätten and via a crossroads to Oberkohlstätten, where you can learn about the historic technique of burning coal at a show pile. Forest paths then take you over the small and large Hirschenstein to the top of the pass on the main road.
Shuttle service to Lockenhaus(Burghotel Lockenhaus) or Rechnitz(Taxiteam Rechnitz).
Attention poor cell phone reception: organize a cab at the Hirschenstein transmitter - approx. 45 minutes to the stage finish
