The classic at Lake Millstatt - a daring, technically demanding singletrail for experienced bikers.
Partly very demanding trail for experienced bikers.
Steep terrain steps alternate with root passages and stone fields, a pleasure for skilled riders.
Shared Trail:
The Sternentrail is a shared trail. That means hikers and bikers share the path.
Please ride carefully and anticipatively on the descent and reduce speed when passing hikers.
Give priority to groups of pedestrians.
Author’s recommendation
After a cold drink at Gasthof Bergfried the descent is even more fun.

Please ride slowly and greet friendly through the Unterluaga farm after the first part of the trail.

- For your own safety, adhere to barriers and prohibition signs - the forest and our alpine pastures are also workplaces and habitats.
- Observe the signage and stay on the trail - no shortcuts.
- Ride gently and controlled - stay in your comfort zone and ride with half sight. Shortcuts, shredding and blocking rear wheels damage the trail and the image of mountain bikers.
- Take care of nature, plants and wildlife and finish your route before dusk.
- Close pasture gates and doors behind you - "Last cow closes the gate".
- Be friendly, respect other trail users and yield to hikers where appropriate. Uphill riders have the right of way.
- Leave no traces in nature and no litter.

Roadbook
From the Kurpark Döbriach follow Glanzer Straße to the Ferndorf beach pool. Continue on Glanzer Straße to the village of Glanz. After the village of Glanz turn left onto Fresacher Landessstraße towards Gschriet. Follow the signs to Alpengasthof Bergfried. Continuously paved, hardly any car traffic from the Gschriet junction.
From Alpengasthof Bergfried via tractor path to the viewpoint "Sternenbalkon." Directly below the Sternenbalkon very steep straight down.
Please do not leave the trail here and ride in a way that protects the ground.
After the meadow a short section through the forest, then along the edge of the next meadow to the forest road. Follow the forest road left to the farm "Unterluaga."
Immediately after the farm turn right over the meadow continuing with some very nice sections.
Follow the trail through the old beech stand to a thicket. Through the thicket and over a ladder to the forest road.
Follow the forest road down into the valley and then turn left over Brandhoferweg and Mirnockstraße back to the starting point.
