Millstätter Alm Tour | NOCKBIKE Tour 49
The premier day route over Lake Millstatt for e-bike, mountain bike, or gravel bike with wonderful views of the surrounding Nock Mountains and the lakes of the region. Several operated huts along the route offer opportunities for a hearty stop.
A challenging day route from Millstatt or Döbriach via Kaning and the mining ditch to the Nöring Saddle and the Millstätter Alm through the heart of the Nock Mountains.
The elevation gain should not be underestimated, but for athletic people the route is of course also manageable without electric support or even with a gravel bike.
Route connections: No. 22, 26, 15, 14, 48, 50, T48
Food stops: Restaurants in Radenthein/Döbriach and the Millstätter Hut, Alexander Hut and Schwaiger Hut on the Millstätter Alm and restaurants or inns on the return route on the Millstätter Plateau as well as the fish snack bar in Dellach.

Safety information
The route partly leads over public roads and paths. Watch for car traffic and observe traffic regulations (STVO).
- For your own safety, obey closures and prohibition signs – the forest and our alpine pastures are also workplaces and habitats.
- Observe signage and follow the route – no shortcuts.
- Ride gently and controlled – stay in your comfort zone and ride in partial visibility. Shortcuts, shredding and blocking rear wheels damage the trail and the mountain biker’s image.
- Pay attention to nature, plants and wildlife and finish your tour before dusk.
- Close grazing gates and doors behind you – "The last cow closes the gate."
- Be friendly, respect other path users and give way to hikers if necessary. Uphill riders have priority.
- Leave no traces in nature and no trash.
- Traffic rules apply on forestry roads and alpine roads.

Roadbook
Route course: Döbriach on Lake Millstatt – Radenthein – Dörfl – Zödl – Kaning/Bach – Nöring Saddle – Riegelalm – Millstätter Törl – Millstätter Hut – Alexander Hut – Schwaiger Hut – Schwaigerschaft – Obermillstatt – Sappl – Gritzenweg – Döbriach on Lake Millstatt
From Döbriach on Lake Millstatt, the bike path leads to Radenthein. In the town center of Radenthein, the climbs begin via Dörfl and Zödl into the Nöring Valley. Old mines line the route of the tour here. The ascent from Radenthein to the Nöring Saddle runs on farm roads with little traffic.
From the Kaning Törl (Nöring Saddle), turn left onto the Riegelalm. There you ride on an alpine road without major difficulties towards Millstätter Törl.
The last meters before the pass do not yet reveal the amazing view that awaits there. Once at the highest point, a view opens up over almost all of Carinthia and the beautiful Lake Millstatt.
From the pass, it goes down to the Millstätter, Alexander and Schwaiger huts, where you can enjoy culinary highlights of the region. After a refreshment at one of the three huts, the descent takes place via the Millstätter Alm road over Öttern to Tschierweg. From there on the Obermillstatt state road over Obermillstatt along the plateau to Sappl. From there the descent continues via the Gritzenweg, which is a beautiful forest path in the first part, back to Döbriach.
Alternatively, the route can of course also be started from Millstatt or Radenthein.
For experienced mountain bikers, the Millstätter Hometrail is recommended as a descent from the Millstätter Alm.
We advise riding the route counterclockwise to avoid morning traffic on the Millstätter Alm road during the ascent.
