The start of the route is in Roßhaupten at the western exit of the town. From there, head up the "Felsenweg" and descend on the south side. Via a single trail and a short stretch of road, you reach the Hopferwald and continue via Faulensee to Rieden am Forggensee. The route then leads via Enzensberg to Hopfen am See. Then continue to the Hopfen castle ruins and through the Hopferwald to Langegg to the staffed Alpe Beichestein.
The descent goes via Brandstatt and Roßfallen to Langmoos. Then continue via the northern side of Senkele through the Senkelewald and over a short ascent on the west side of Zwieselberg (Buchweg) back to Roßhaupten.
The recommended direction of travel is clockwise.
The route consists of 15% asphalt, 80% gravel paths and 5% trail sections.
