From the parking lot in Pieve di Ledro, turn left and follow the signs of Route 729 "Giro del Lago di Ledro." The route is well marked.
The fountain is to your right; take Via Sant Antonio. On a street used as a bike path, you go slightly uphill towards Locca. A short stretch on the main road follows until Via del Castel, where you turn right shortly before the village.
Then turn right into Via San Marco and continue on the road even when it changes from asphalt to gravel. Be careful to stay on the path and not enter private property.
The further climb to Coste di Bariolo runs mainly in the forest with some hairpin bends. Once there, a bench with a splendid view of the lake and the soothing shade of a large tree awaits you. Treat yourself to a short break before you start the entertaining and easy descent, which alternates between unpaved and paved sections with considerable slope.
Then take the paved road towards Mezzolago, keep right, and turn left at the church. Now a particularly scenic section awaits you, offering beautiful views of the lake.
Before reaching the main road, keep right at the pedestrian crossing. To avoid riding on the busy main road, please get off and walk with your bike along the lakeside pedestrian path. In Molina, turn right after the stilt houses to ride along the southern shore of the lake. When you pass Pur, keep right to follow the unpaved foot and bike path to Pieve di Ledro. At the roundabout, go straight to return to the parking lot.
Variants
- If you want to warm up your legs well before the climb, start the route in Molina di Ledro.
- If you have the necessary time and fitness, make a small detour at Pur to visit Ledro Land Art. This is a path of about one kilometer along which sculptures made from natural materials have been placed in the forest. The path is easy to find. Just follow the road towards Malga Cita. The entrance is free.
