The start of the route is at the parking lot in the Halblech valley. From there, it goes via the Reiselsberg and Wasserscheid huts to the Geometer hut (all three are unstaffed). The route continues over the Mardersteig path into the Halbammertal valley to Unternogg. Via Königsstraße, it goes to Oberreithen past the Trauchgauer Almstube (place to eat) continuing to Trauchgau and back to Halblech.
The recommended direction is counterclockwise.
The route runs on forest and agricultural roads. It consists of 30% asphalt and 70% gravel, forest, and agricultural roads.
