Around the Breitenberg

We start from the valley station of the Breitenbergbahn in Pfronten, first ride along the B309 to the beginning of Pfronten-Steinach, turn right onto the main road after the first junction and stay on it until we cross the stream. After the stream, we turn left onto the cycle path heading towards "Drindlmühle" along the stream, at Drindlmühle we do not follow the cycle path to the right over the main road, but stay left before the road and continue along the left side by the Steinacher Ach towards "Fallmühle." At the Fallmühle inn, we continue cycling to the former border station Fallmühle. Here we turn left onto a wide forestry road towards "Breitenberg/Ostlerhütte." This forest track ends below the north face of the Aggenstein. Halfway up, however, we turn left onto a new forest road. This gravel road is also signposted towards "Breitenberg, Ostlerhütte." It leads us up in switchbacks and past below the hut to the mountain station of the chairlift (Hochalpbahn) on the Breitenberg. Near the cable car route, the path now winds down to the valley station. There we turn sharply right to the Plattenbach and towards "Pfronten-Steinach." The path takes us past the valley stations of the old drag lifts "Mittaglift" and "Aggensteinlift" into the ravine, from there we turn left under the cable car route of the Breitenbergbahn. The forest road now winds down in switchbacks to a fork in the road. We stay on the forest road and continue rolling downhill to the B309. Finally, we turn left back to the Breitenbergbahn, our starting point of the route.
