Alto Garda Horizon Trail – eMTB/MTB Experience
A two-day MTB or eMTB adventure through the entire Alto Garda Bresciano Park. A high difficulty level itinerary, touching the most important peaks of the park and requiring excellent physical preparation and experience. Along the route, it is necessary to plan an overnight stay and recharge the bike in the Valvestino/Cima Rest area.
Some sections have temporary interruptions due to small landslides: these can be overcome by carrying the bike by hand.
The Alto Garda Horizon Trail is a sporty and emotional journey that combines nature, culture, and adrenaline.
It starts from Riva del Garda/Pregasina and follows a long 78 km loop with over 3,200 m of positive elevation gain, crossing the most scenic mountains and valleys of the Alto Garda Bresciano Park.
The route touches some of the most iconic points of the Garda mountains:
Mountains: Dossone (1414 m), Monte Nota (1350 m), Punta di Mois (1371 m), Monte Caplone (1976 m).
Passes and Bocche: Passo di Tombea (1822 m), Tremalzo (1664 m), Bocca Campei (1860 m), Bocca di Val Marza (1787 m), Bocca di Cablone (1755 m), Bocca dei Fortini (1243 m), Passo Bestana (1286 m), Passo Prà della Rosa (1424 m) and many more.
This great traverse offers ever-changing landscapes: pine forests, alpine meadows, rural villages, military mule tracks and panoramic ridges overlooking the lake. There are also historical-cultural points of interest such as old lime kilns and remains of WWI military posts.
The itinerary is challenging: about 11 hours of actual pedaling, usually divided into two days, with the possibility of overnight stay and e-bike recharge at Cima Rest Valvestino.

Safety information
- Beware of landslides and slips: in some sections it may be necessary to push the bike by hand, especially in the Monte Caplone area (steep gravelly sections and dangerous ridges) and Tremalzo area (gravelly sections).
- Possible late snow in the highest passes during spring months.
- It is essential to carry water and energy snacks: refreshment points are few and far between.
- Always check the weather and trail conditions before departure.
Tips and suggestions
Always check weather conditions before departure: rain and fog can make technical sections very dangerous.
Some segments have landslides or slips: in these cases, it is necessary to get off and push the bike by hand.
Plan the stage with margin: the route is long and demanding, requires physical endurance and excellent time management.
Do the tour in company, avoiding going alone.
Refill water at every available opportunity: water sources are not always available at altitude.
If staying overnight, ensure availability of facilities for refreshment and eMTB recharging.
Always respect the environment: do not leave marked trails and carry your waste downhill.
