All Saints - Monastery Tour

The tour starts at the tourist information in Oppenau (OP1). Opposite the parking spaces at the church, the Chapel Path leads uphill.

After about 350 m, the buildings end and it goes onto a concrete surface into the forest. At kilometer 0.5, follow the hiking trail sign to the left towards Kleinebene.

At the hiking trail sign "Burgerwald" continue straight ahead to Kleinebene.

Turn right uphill onto the road to the forest.

There (OP33) (Km 1.3) turn right onto Rotenbachstraße towards the high plateau.

About 200 m after the water reservoir, turn left and shortly after at the next hiking trail sign continue straight ahead towards the high plateau.

At the high plateau hiking trail sign (Km 3.2), turn right uphill on an asphalt road.

On the ridge, half right take the gravel road about 300 m downhill. At the next hiking trail sign continue towards All Saints.

At Km 4.5 there is a farm on the left side. At the hiking trail sign there turn right, continuing towards All Saints.

About 700 m further, at the crossroads on a ridge in the forest, continue straight ahead past a small chapel.

At the hiking sign "Rinkenkapelle" turn left towards All Saints.

At the end of the farm turn right up a steep meadow path, follow it along the forest edge for about 260 m.

Then steeply uphill to the left into the forest.

After another 150 m turn right onto a gravel road, follow this straight ahead (yellow diamond).

At Km 7.2 on the ridge, turn right onto a partially rooty and stony forest path. Continue following the yellow diamond to the hiking trail sign "Wachtschrofen" (OP30) (Km 8.1).

Continue straight ahead towards All Saints. About 100 m further, at the hiking trail sign "Braunberg" continue straight ahead (OP29) towards All Saints. The gravel road now runs fairly level and winding parallel to the slope.

After about 3.3 km, you reach the hiking trail sign "Wattenstein".

Continue straight ahead, past the viewing platform at the parking lot on the country road (OP27) (Km 12.3), then turn right downhill at the intersection with hairpin bends on the country road towards All Saints.

All Saints - Oppenau:                   26.0 Km

The tour leads, after a right curve, past the All Saints monastery ruins and follows the asphalt road for about 800 m. After a right curve, follow the road uphill and before a large parking lot with wood storage, turn left into the upper of the two forest paths. On gravel it goes uphill and after two long curves, above a meadow to a crossroads (OP 26) turn right.

Soon after, follow Hirscheckstraße to the left uphill on a gravel road.

Past the hut continue downhill to the Waldholzhütte (OP25) (Km 17.2). There turn left onto Rotenbachstraße towards Rotenbach and 100 m further, at the next junction (OP24) continue downhill towards Rotenbach and Lierbach-Blume.

Always follow the path downhill into the valley towards Lierbach-Blume.

After the about 5 km long descent you will reach the Gasthaus Blume.

There turn left on the country road (OP31) (Km 22.8) downhill to Oppenau and continue straight ahead on the main road back to the starting point.
