Grundsteinlegung der Kirche war 1939. Wegen des Krieges konnte die Kirche erst 1950 fertiggestellt und eingeweiht werden.
1974 wurde der Chorraum neu gestaltet.
Eine kleine evangelische Kirche im katholischen Renchtal. Die wenigen protestantischen Einwohner hielten zunächst ihre Gottesdienste in einem Schulsaal ab. Zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde Geld für einen Kirchbau gesammelt und mit dem Bau begonnen. Doch dann begann der 2. Weltkrieg.
Ein erster Blick in die Kirche lenkt das Auge auf das bunte Fenster im Chor. Die floral wirkenden Formen interpretien das Sämannsgleichnis (Matthäus 13). Es wurde 1974 von dem Künstler Horst Leyendecker entworfen.
Im Zuge der Umgestaltung 1973/74 schuf Jürgen Goertz das Taufbecken, den Altar und das Altarkreuz mit dem Hasen.In seiner Formgebung des Altars nimmt Goertz die Geschehnisse des unvollendeten Kirchenbaus in der Kriegszeit auf.
