The Cistercian Trail: Lubiąż – Rudy – Velehrad

Following in the footsteps of the Cistercians from the former Leubus (Lubiąż) Abbey on the Oder River, through Silesia to Velehrad in Moravia (Czech Republic). Along the way, you’ll encounter not only the former Cistercian monasteries of Kamenz (Kamieniec), Heinrichau (Henrykow), Himmelwitz (Jemielnica), and Rauden (Rudy), but also such notable places as the city of Breslau (Wrocław), Mount Ślęża (Mons Silensis, one of Silesia’s landmarks), the city of Opole, the pilgrimage site of St. Anne’s Mountain, and, in the Czech Republic, the pilgrimage site of Svatý Kopeček and the city of Olomouc.

The Cistercian Trail is not marked with its own signage and generally follows existing (long-distance) hiking trails.
