Stage 23 Alpe-Adria Trail: Kranjska Gora - Trenta
This stage begins in Kranjska Gora, passes by Hotel Lek to the Lakes of Jasna, and from there continues on a forest path to Erika. You hike over alpine pastures and through forests, along the mountain stream Pišnica, past the Mihov dom shelter and the Russian chapel. From there, it continues along the old donkey trail to the Vršič Pass, the highest mountain pass of the Julian Alps. Afterwards, you hike downhill to the source of the Soča River and further to the stage destination in Trenta.
The stage begins in Kranjska Gora (810 m) and leads past Hotel Lek to the Lakes of Jasna and from there continues on a forest path to Erika. You hike over alpine pastures and through forests, along the mountain stream Pišnica, past the Mihov dom shelter (at 1085 m) and the Russian chapel, and from there further along the old donkey trail to the summit of Vršič (1688 m). It is only a few steps to the viewpoint from which you can see the rock face of a maiden (Ajdovska deklica). The Russian chapel and Ajdovska deklica are the magical points of this section.

Behind the hut, the hiking trail continues to the source. Return the same way.
Near the parking lot, a large display board shows the way to the Soča Trail. The typical small information posts of the Triglav National Park indicate the way to the information center in the Trenta House.
