Alpine crossing Ehrwald - Sterzing
The Alpine crossing from Ehrwald to Sterzing leads through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Northern Alps. The route runs on well-marked mountain paths from the Wetterstein Mountains, continuing over the Stubai Alps to South Tyrol. It is technically of moderate difficulty but requires sure-footedness, good fitness, and mountain experience for the steeper ascents.
Highlights include the rugged rock faces of the Mieminger Range, tranquil mountain lakes, wild mountain streams and waterfalls, as well as the impressive border crossing with the first view of South Tyrol. Blooming alpine meadows, wide panoramas, and cozy huts provide variety and delicious rest along the way. At the end awaits the charming town of Sterzing with a southern flair – a rewarding conclusion to a varied and scenically magnificent Alpine crossing.
